Edwardian Lady Part 4: Refinement Sculpting
With the new topology complete, the model was ready for the final phase of sculpting, refinement. I imported it into ZBrush and took my time sculpting (sometimes vertex by vertex!) the mesh to my liking, trying to capture the spirit of the concept art.
I requested and got helpful feedback from my peers in our WIA mentorship circle; occasionally, it’s difficult to see what improvements you can make after staring at your project for so long. I got a suggestion to soften the tip of the nose; I realized this assessment was correct and modified the topology and shape of the nose, and I think the result is definitely an improvement!
Another body part that I fixed are the knees; for whatever reason, making stylized knees look right took some experimenting. I initially sculpted them far too large! Next, I’ll start working on the hair, brows, and lashes.
